Rule of Twelve, Double Take - Ch15 (Passage 5/5)
“Hi,” came Luna’s voice as she bounced into the suit locker.
Dukk turned around.
“Are you alright? You are all flushed?”
“Yes, I am fine. I was practicing some yoga in zero-G. I lost track of time. Quite challenging and not what I expected.” Luna replied.
“Yoga?” Marr mouthed silently at Luna from behind Dukk.
Luna smiled cheekily.
Marr held her hands up and looked away as if to say ‘I don't want to know’.
Dukk laughed. He’d been an apprentice too once. He knew what was on his mind the first time he was in zero-g. And, he could tell an intentional lie.
“Are you sure you want to try this now? I can go alone and you can get back to your ‘yoga’?” Dukk asked in gest emphasising the last word.
“Nope, I’m good. Let’s do this.”
Thirty five minutes later, Luna stood at the port outer doorway. She was in awe.
Dukk and Luna had completed the same process Bazzer and Marr had done earlier. Marr, with ...
Moments later, Dukk was awake again. The view had changed. They were in orbit of a rocky planet in the JR18 system. The traverse had put them in the shadow of the planet. It was dark.

Bazzer, Annee and Mentor responded immediately.
“Back,” Marr said in a whisper.
“Bah,” Luna uttered before making a gagging sound as she fought back the nausea.
“Mentor, you up to med check?”
“Transferring med control back to you. Give us the status when you are ready.”
“Cockpit, four stable, two stabilising. Passengers, two stable, rest are stabilising,” Mentor replied moments later.
“Excellent. Systems, Bazzer?” Dukk asked.
“All green,” responded Bazzer.
“Perfect. Let’s get the DMD going.”
The tingle washed over them. Luna could...
Time is a gift. A gift that is precious and beautiful. A gift that must be opened immediately as it comes by once only. Missing the opportunity of that gift is a travesty. Lacking in or having the absence of hope is one sure way to miss that opportunity.
I chose years ago, to use this gift to help others make the most of it too. In the space between, I love, learn and write. I do this all in the hope that we return to our truth.
My writing is futuristic, honest and brutal at times. I hope to bring focus to that which matters most: Love, choice, and truth.
